Read this text carefully and don’t ignore the serious information! Look at the bug in the picture… you’re looking at the most dangerous insect in the world!
These bugs are called kissing bugs and they carry the Chagas (American Tripanosamiasis) disease, which is fatal for humans. The Chagas disease was recently widespread across Texas. The bugs transmit the disease with a bite which leaves a part of their saliva on the wound, causing the disease.
Chagas is a very dangerous disease. It doesn’t show any symptoms until it reaches an advanced stage. The most common symptoms are swelling of the eyelids and anaphylactic shock, but sometimes the disease can cause choking and can even be fatal! In the early stages of the disease, the symptoms may resemble those of the flu, but they develop into something more serious as the disease progresses. If you notice these symptoms, visit a doctor immediately!
Kissing bugs can be found in crevices, under rocks, porches, stairs and of course, in forests. Take a good look at the picture above and make sure you stay away from them.
